CHAPTER THREE

1- When did Gulliver decide not to go to that side of the island ?
After Reldresal had told him about a possible attack.                                                                                          2- why did Gulliver decide not to go to that side of the island ?
In case he  was seen by the enemies of Lilliput.
3- Why did Gulliver think the people at Blefuscu had no idea about Gulliver?
 Because  there was no communication between the two countries,
4- Why was there no communication between the two island?
Because the two countries were at war.
5- What was Gulliver’s plan to put an end to the war between the two island?
He could take all of Blefuscu's fleet of ships.                                                                                                            6- What were the people at Blefuscu preparing for the attack on Lilliput?
The were preparing a fleet of ships.
7-Why do you think Gulliver wanted to know the depth of the water\ sea?
Because he intended to walk across the sea and take away the ships of Blefuscu.

The sea was about two metres deep at most.
9-What should Gulliver know before walking across the sea?
He should know how deep the sea was between the two countries.                                                                10-How could Gulliver collect information about the Blefuscu ‘s army?
He  used his pocket telescope to look at the island next to theirs. He  could see about fifty ships together with some smaller boats in a small harbour.
11- Why do you think Gulliver lay down on some field next to the coast?
So that he could not be seen from Blefuscu.
12-What tools did Gulliver use for his mission\ pulling the ships away?
        He  used  some strong chains and fifty metal poles. He  shaped the poles into large hooks and fastened these onto the chains.                                                                                                                                                   13- What did Gulliver do before he walked into the cold sea?
 He  took off his shoes and socks and walked into the cold sea, carrying the chains and hooks.                     14- Could Gulliver walk all the distance between all the two islands in the sea ?
No, he had to swim a little where it was deepest, before arriving in Blefuscu's harbour .                               15- How did the people of Blefuscu feel on seeing Gulliver? Why?
 They were terrified. Because Gulliver was a giant.
16- How did the people of Blefusco behave when they saw Gulliver at the harbour?
Sailors jumped from the ships and swam as fast as they could to the shore.
Blefuscu's soldiers started to shoot arrows at him from the shore.
17-How could Gulliver accomplish the mission in Blefuscu?
He was able to pull all fifty boats away from the harbour
18- What was Gulliver’s main worry\ thing while being shot by people of Blefuscu?
His  main worry was for his eyes.

He put on the glasses to protect his eyes from any arrows .

He took out a knife and cut all the ropes.
21- What did the soldiers realize and surprised them?
That Gulliver didn’t want to harm any one. He mainly wanted to take the ships away.
22-What did Gulliver have to do before he swim back to Lilliput?
 He removed some of the arrows from his hands and prepared to swim back to Lilliput.

The King said he thought Gulliver had drowned.

When he reached the shore of Lilliput and finished his mission.

He Objected to making  the free people of Blefuscu prisoners.

Once Gulliver opposed him , he wanted to get rid of him.

He was surprised that the King's opinion changed and told Gulliver  that he  was no longer a hero.

When  he knew he could not make me help him attack BIc­fuscu.

      He  was beginning to get many enemies., his  situation in Lilliput had become more dangerous.

Yes, he did he said that he would be happy to do this.

He did not realise that his  promise would displease the king of Lilliput.

       To tell Gulliver about what was being planned to get rid of him.

He told the King that Gulliver cost too much money.

Because that Blefuscu did not have a fleet of ships and his job was no longer important.

He was an advisor of the king. He never liked Gulliver . he was against setting Gulliver free.                                             43-How did Skyresh Bolgolam arouse\ raise the kings hatred against Gulliver?
He told the king that Gulliver had not kept many of the promises I had agreed to when they set me free

Many of the King's advisers said he was planning to work with the King of Blefuscu against Lilliput.

He was extremely worried.

He should be shot with poisonous arrows, or they set fire to his house with him inside.

It was agreed that he would be made blind.

He told Gulliver of what was planned for him so that he could now be prepared for what was to come.

He could easily fight the King and his men. If he threw a few stones at the city, he could easily destroy it.

He got a letter said that Gulliver escaped punishment and should be sent back to Lilliput.

If Gulliver was not returned to Lilliput at once, the war between the two countries would begin again.

He could keep the sheep to give to his children when he got home.

 He was very pleased and he fed the sheep on his best sea biscuits.
